Tents & shelter

How should I compare tent capacity and usable space?

Compare the person rating alongside floor dimensions, center height and the sleeping arrangement you intend to use. For example, Roam Ridge’s Coleman 6-Person Instant Cabin listing gives a 10 × 9 ft floor and states that it fits two queen-size airbeds. Plan where luggage and other equipment will go as well as where people will sleep. Compare Tents.

Camp lighting

What should I compare besides a lantern’s brightness?

Check runtime at the stated light setting, battery type, whether batteries are included, size and water-resistance rating. Roam Ridge’s Coleman Mini BatteryGuard 200-lumen listing uses four AA batteries sold separately; the 600-lumen model uses a different battery format. Choose according to the light and spare batteries you want to carry. Browse Lanterns.

Can a water-resistant camping lantern be submerged?

Do not assume so. The Coleman BatteryGuard lantern examples reviewed in Roam Ridge’s catalog are listed as IPX4 water resistant, which should not be treated as an immersion rating. Check the exact product’s instructions and keep battery compartments closed during use. Water resistance also does not make every lantern suitable for every exposed location. Compare lantern specifications.

Coolers

How do I compare a cooler’s capacity and storage features?

Check both the stated capacity and exterior dimensions, then consider carrying straps, handles and separate dry storage. Capacity labels alone do not describe how much space remains after adding ice or packs. Roam Ridge’s Coleman Pro 16-Can Soft Cooler listing includes separate dry storage, while the CHILLER 9-Can model has a different layout. Explore Coolers.

Portable power

Does every item in Portable Power work as an all-in-one power station?

No. Read the actual product type and included items. Roam Ridge’s Portable Power collection includes Vexilar batteries and a battery-and-charger combination intended for compatible equipment. A standalone battery is not the same as a power station with built-in AC and USB outputs. Confirm voltage, connectors, charging requirements and the device you want to power before choosing. Browse Portable Power.
